My name is Jenna. I’m a restaurant manager in the midwest, where I live with my husband and our two cats and (when he’s home from college) my husband’s brother. Besides reading, I love watching TV, running, container vegetable gardening, cooking, Slurpees, and couponing. I spend most of my summer evenings watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. My husband is a teacher and I work most weekends, but when we have time and the weather is nice, we like to go camping and hiking. (My Kindle always goes too.) I’m a nail polish addict. I have over 100 bottles of nail polish, with my favorites being blues, greens, and purples. I’m always looking for good ways to organize them.
Most of the books I read are young adult. I love dystopians, but lately I’ve been reading a lot more contemporaries too. My favorite books ever are The Tomorrow series by John Marsden and the Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Some of my other favorite authors are Lauren Myracle, Lauren Oliver, Meg Cabot, Rachel Caine, Nora Roberts, and Karin Slaughter.
I love old children’s and teen books, those hardcover books from the ’50s and ’60s and battered paperbacks from the ’70s and ’80s: Donna Parker, Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High, The Girls of Canby Hall, The Boxcar Children, Trixie Belden, Judy Blume, Norma Klein, and so many more. Every year I go to at least one huge book fair, where I pick up as many as catch my eye.
