Ten Book To Movie Adaptations I Still Need To Watch

01. If I Stay – I keep forgetting about this one when I go to Redbox.

02. The Maze Runner – I don’t know much about this movie but the recent release of the second movie reminded me that I had been interested in the first. I just had forgotten it existed.

03. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 – I bought this movie on DVD when it came out. I just haven’t watched it yet.

04. Insurgent – I actually liked the Divergent movie (despite my dislike of Shailene Woodley) but this one hasn’t been a priority. I liked the Divergent book much more than Insurgent and I haven’t been in the mood for it.

05. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl – I probably won’t actually see this movie, but I needed a fifth for this part of the list. It looks kind of interesting but it’s not really my kind of movie.

06. The 5th Wave (January 15, 2016) – And I still need to read the book before I see the movie. But I don’t go to movies so it will be awhile after that before Redbox has it.

07. Before I Fall (2016) – I LOVED Before I Fall. This is probably my #1 movie for 2016 or whenever they get it made. Not that I’ll rush out to see it. Redbox, you know.

08. Fallen (2016) – The book was a DNF but the movie might be better?

09. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (November 20, 2015) – So the first Hunger Games movie was actually the last movie I saw in a theater. (Yes, you read that right. I haven’t been to the movies since 2012.) I keep saying I’ll go to the others after the release week crowds die down, but I never actually make it there.

10. Let It Snow (December 9, 2016) – I read Let It Snow in 2009 and don’t remember much about it, but I did give it four stars so I must have liked it. I’ll be interested to see how they turn it into a movie.

  1. I want to see Maze Runner and Mockingjay too. All of a sudden a bunch of movies are coming out I want to see, and I’ll probably miss most. I’ve enjoyed the Divergent movies and am cautiously looking forward to Allegiant (haven’t read it yet). And Before I Fall I would definitely go see, just because I like Lauren Oliver’s writing.

  3. I wanted to like If I Stay better – loved the book, but the movie felt flat. I wonder if I would have liked it more if I hadn’t read the book and known the ending. It did have a gorgeous soundtrack, though.

  4. I wasn’t a huge fan of If I Stay, so I’d definitely recommend just renting it. (My sister made me buy it, so I guess now it’s hers.) I loved Mockingjay Part I. I know a lot of people say that they hated it, but I really, really loved it. I also really liked Insurgent, even though that seems to be an unpopular opinion too.

And I can’t say enough good things about Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. I bought that last week, and I balled my eyes out. OMG. I was such a mess after watching it.
