Picks of the Month: September 2015

picksofthemonth

Picks of the Month is my monthly feature. Modeled after what I’m loving lately at Annie’s Eats (one of my favorite food blogs), I’ll be sharing the products, websites, pop culture, apps, etc that made my life easier and/or more fun the previous month. And, yes, as this is a book blog, I will probably find a way to sneak some mention of my favorite reads from the month too!

Last month I got addicted to studyblrs on tumblr. (In July I fell down an internet hole and perused medblr after medblr, the studyblrs of med students. Somehow I never connected that to the fact that there would be regular studyblrs too.) I’m not even in school anymore but I was lured in by the photos of school supply hauls. I even watched a few school supply haul videos. This is big. Like, I’ve never watched a booktube video. Not one. I’m just not interested in the format. I rarely visit Youtube at all unless I’m following a link from somewhere or looking for a music video. Anyway, bullet journals are big in the studyblr community, the prettier and the more colorful the better. I finally started one of my own. It’s been fun so far and since I’m not artistic, I’m using washi tape and fall stickers to decorate it.

Favorite books I read in September:
The Boy Project by Kami Kinard H2O by Virginia BerginThe Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy The XYZs of Being Wicked by Lara Chapman

  1. I like the idea of bullet journals. My friend tried it out and she said that it worked wonders. It felt like decluttering her life. I wish to see what you did with yours 🙂

    • I didn’t really understand them at first, but after looking through a bunch of them on Pinterest and tumblr, it finally clicked. I’m working to get my blog more organized and I think it’s going to help a lot. I’ll do some photos sometime.
