Weekly Rewind: April 26 – May 2

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

My cat Brigitta was diagnosed with chronic renal failure about a year and a half ago. At the beginning of April, she stopped eating. We went to the vet and he did some bloodwork, and her numbers were really bad. He was basically ready to give up on her and he said that we’re probably at the end. But I know my cats and I wasn’t ready to give up her yet. I had to push for it, but he gave us some medications and we got her eating again. She won’t touch her kidney diet, but she is eating, which is what’s most important. I still feel like she needs to eat more, but we’re getting there. And we got back a second round of bloodwork this week. Her numbers are back where they were in November, the most recent time he ran the tests (before April). They’re still not good because she does have CRF, but they are much, much better than they were. She’s 15 this month so I know her time is limited, but I’m so happy she’s feeling better.

  7. That’s great news for Brigitta. You do know your fur baby:) My cat, Sheba, is going on 22 and in fine health. But she is ripping hair out by her tail and the vet says she’s too old for shots so I’m working with a conditioner to hopefully stop the habit.
