My To-Be Read List: March 2015

My To-Be Read List

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life. On the first Saturday of every month, I’ll be posting a poll with three books from my TBR. You get to vote on one for me to read and on the last Saturday of the month, I’ll post my review.

This month I’m going back to September, October, and November and I’m putting the second highest vote-getting choices for those months into the poll. I still want to read these books and I’m going to force you to pick one of them! I had a tie in October, so I picked the first one on the list that month.

Here are my choices for March:

Never Fade (The Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken
Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken

Ruby never asked for the abilities that almost cost her her life. Now she must call upon them on a daily basis, leading dangerous missions to bring down a corrupt government and breaking into the minds of her enemies. Other kids in the Children’s League call Ruby “Leader”, but she knows what she really is: a monster.

When Ruby is entrusted with an explosive secret, she must embark on her most dangerous mission yet: leaving the Children’s League behind. Crucial information about the disease that killed most of America’s children—and turned Ruby and the others who lived into feared and hated outcasts—has survived every attempt to destroy it. But the truth is only saved in one place: a flashdrive in the hands of Liam Stewart, the boy Ruby once believed was her future—and who now wouldn’t recognize her.

As Ruby sets out across a desperate, lawless country to find Liam—and answers about the catastrophe that has ripped both her life and America apart—she is torn between old friends and the promise she made to serve the League. Ruby will do anything to protect the people she loves. But what if winning the war means losing herself?

There’s nothing real about reality TV.

Seventeen-year-old Bonnie™ Baker has grown up on TV—she and her twelve siblings are the stars of one-time hit reality show Baker’s Dozen. Since the show’s cancellation and the scandal surrounding it, Bonnie™ has tried to live a normal life, under the radar and out of the spotlight. But it’s about to fall apart…because Baker’s Dozen is going back on the air. Bonnie™’s mom and the show’s producers won’t let her quit and soon the life she has so carefully built for herself, with real friends (and maybe even a real boyfriend), is in danger of being destroyed by the show. Bonnie™ needs to do something drastic if her life is ever going to be her own—even if it means being more exposed than ever before.

Parker Shelton pretty much has the perfect life. She’s on her way to becoming valedictorian at Hundred Oaks High, she’s made the all-star softball team, and she has plenty of friends. Then her mother’s scandal rocks their small town and suddenly no one will talk to her.

Now Parker wants a new life.

So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? Or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?

But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?

  2. I didn’t love Something Real, it was ok but I just felt like something was missing. I just finished a Miranda book and I really enjoyed it.

    • I hate it when I’m expecting a book to be good and it just doesn’t have everything I wanted. Maybe this one will work better for me than it did for you…if it wins! If not, it will probably show up again in a later round, lol.
