Discussion: Upcoming Covers I Love

I don’t judge books by their covers, but a good cover can make me look twice at a book I might have passed over based on title or unknown author alone.

beach scenes

Books with beach covers usually make me think of summer. The colors of these books aren’t as warm as the ones I usually like, but they’re still pretty. My favorite is Between Us and the Moon because blue is my favorite color. I love the silhouettes on the The Cost of All Things Cover, and I saw a lot of covers with groups of four people when I was looking for covers for this post. It must be a trend. As a midwesterner, though, the sky on The Start of Me and You‘s cover is a little scary. A green sky can mean a tornado is coming!

large text

I love these simple text-based covers for Emmy & Oliver, Tiny Pretty Things, and Play On. I love baseball but I wasn’t even aware of Play On until the cover caught my eye on a Goodreads list. I’m so happy I spotted it!

colorful

I’m not sure I’ll read it (I don’t read a lot of historical fiction and when I do, 1849 is not a time period that I gravitate towards) but Under a Painted Sky has, hands down, the prettiest cover of the year. The Brilliant Light of Amber Sunrise runs a close second, but with a cancer storyline I’m 95% sure I won’t be reading it. I try to avoid crying books. Too bad I can’t have the cover to just hang on my wall.

Are there any covers of upcoming books you love?

  3. I am in love with all of those covers! Wow. Just wow. Oh, and another beautiful one for colorful is Because You’ll Never Meet Me. I love the yellow and green in it.

I was even going to do a post about cover lust, but I’m putting it off until closer to the summer. I want to make sure that I get caught up on reading and soon. lol
