Middle Grade Books I’m Looking Forward To in 2015

Middle Grade Madness

I alternate Middle Grade Madness with Throwback Thursday posts and I’m supposed to be doing a Throwback Thursday post today. I didn’t get my TT book finished and I don’t have a middle grade review ready yet either, so I’m going to show you what middle grade books I’m looking forward to this year. Think of it as a middle grade version on Top Ten Tuesday… on Thursday!

Ruby Reinvented by Ronni Arno Operation Pucker Up by Rachele Alpine
Ruby Reinvented by Ronni Arno (fall) and Operation Pucker Up by Rachele Alpine (July 21): I just love the Aladdin Mix books. They’re easy middle grade contemporaries.

My Secret Guide to Paris by Lisa Schroeder
My Secret Guide to Paris by Lisa Schroeder (February 24): This one reminds me of 13 Little Blue Envelopes. I had issues with the main character in that one, so I hope I like MC in this book a little more.

Fort by Cynthia DeFelice
Fort by Cynthia DeFelice (May 19): Fort reminds me of those old Sandlot movies. I usually read books with female main characters, but sometimes it’s nice to read a book for a boy’s point of view.

If I Were You by Leslie Margolis
If I Were You by Leslie Margolis (May 12): This is another book reminiscent of a movie, Freaky Friday. I love that movie!

Graceful by Wendy Mass
Graceful by Wendy Mass (April 28): This is the fifth book in a series I haven’t started yet, but it looks like you don’t have to read them all or in order. I like to do that even when you don’t have to, but I think I skipped over the first book in Barnes & Noble because it didn’t appeal to me as much as the second.

Masterminds by Gordon Korman Survival Strategies of the Almost Brave by Jen White
Masterminds by Gordon Korman (February 3) and Survival Strategies of the Almost Brave by Jen White (June 9): : I’m not usually big on adventure books, but these look good enough for me to try.

From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess by Meg Cabot
From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess by Meg Cabot (May 19): I haven’t kept up with the Princess Diaries books, but I absolutely loved Meg Cabot’s middle grade Allie Finkle series, so I’m excited for this Princess Diaries spinoff starring Mia’s half-sister. I listened to the Allie Finkle audiobooks and might try that again with this new series.

Extraordinary by Miriam Spitzer Franklin
Extraordinary by Miriam Spitzer Franklin (May 5): This sounds so good, but I’m afraid it might be sad and that would ruin it for me.

Comments

  1. Several of these look good. I especially think If I Were You looks like a neat one. And Wendy Mass has been popular at our house, although this one is new to me.
