I’m participating in the Book Blogger Organization Challenge, which runs from January 1 through June 30. The challenge will be focusing on different areas each month.
Yesterday I recapped how I did in January. For February, the focus is on blog maintenance.
Sidebar & Footers
I have never liked the look of tag clouds, but I like the access they give me to old posts through tags and categories. I’m going to get rid of mine and add some of the links to my navigation bar. Then I can move some of the things in my sidebar to the space the tag cloud is currently occupying. I won’t be able to include all my tags, but I think I can get the major ones. Then I might work on cleaning up some tags and categories.
Clean up broken links
I ran a broken link check a few days ago and found 140 broken links. That’s not too bad, but I want to clean up what I can.
Update my review archive
I haven’t updated it since June! At the same time I update it, I work on cross-posting my reviews to Goodreads, Pinterest, and Tumblr. I also want to start cross-posting them to Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Cross-posting is actually a suggestion for March, but I probably won’t finish this month anyway.
Add featured images to every post
I didn’t use featured images at all until I switched to this design last spring, so I want to go back to all of my older posts and add one in. I can check for other issues with each post at that time.
