Top Ten Tuesday: Five Books/Series I’d Love to Read With My Book Club (If I Had A Book Club)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Five Books/Series I’d Love to Read With My Book Club
(If I Had A Book Club)

I’m not a book club kind of person. I’m in some Goodreads groups that read books and discuss like regular in-person book clubs, but…that’s one reason I’m not very active in any of my Goodreads groups. (Also, I tend to forget I belong to them.) I don’t read books I don’t like or don’t have any interest in, and even when I remember to vote for the book of the month, the group usually picks a book I don’t care to read.

Basically if I’m ever to participate in a book club, I would have to be the Book Club Queen so that I could pick ALL THE BOOKS and then demand that all the members read them. And I do mean all the books. My book club is reading mostly series! We’re in it for the long haul.

01. Harry Potter (series) by JK Rowling
Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

Okay, I’m pretty sure I could find a Harry Potter book club (or fifty) on Goodreads, but honestly, who has time for that? This hypothetical book club would probably have to be devoted solely to Harry Potter because it would take forever to read and discuss all those books.

02. Uglies (series) by Scott Westerfeld

03. Outlander (series) by Diana Gabaldon

That should keep us busy for awhile.

04. Mara Dyer (Series) by Michelle Hodkin

I just finished The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (and will be starting The Evolution of Mara Dyer soon) and I am dying to have someone to discuss it with. I need this book club!

05. Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

I’ve already read Dangerous Boys, and if Dangerous Girls is anything like it, there will be plenty to discuss.

  1. I wanna be a part of this book club! 🙂 I absolutely LOVE the Harry Potter series (who doesn’t :P). I’ve only read the first book in the Uglies series but it was REALLY good. Also, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Mara Dyer series and don’t even get me started about the Outlander series, I need to read it ASAP. Lovely list!

  2. Before the last HP book came out, an LJ friend of mine started a community where we read one or two set chapters a day and then there was a big discussion post. I loved that so much! It was neat to discover things others had picked up on that I had never even after multiple re-reads, and to read different theories.

I hope you enjoy Dangerous Girls! I loved it a lot.

  3. Harry Potter would be fabulous and Outlander would be really interesting considering how many people absolutely love it and some really don’t. I really want to read the Maria Dyer series as well. Great choices!

  4. Great list! Uglies and Mara Dyer are great book club reads because there would be so much to talk about! (Also, a lot of gushing about Noah!).
