Picks of the Month is my monthly feature. Modeled after what I’m loving lately at Annie’s Eats (one of my favorite food blogs), I’ll be sharing the products, websites, pop culture, apps, etc that made my life easier and/or more fun the previous month. And, yes, as this is a book blog, I will probably find a way to sneak some mention of my favorite reads from the month too!
I’m pretty much caught up with most of the shows on my DVR so I’ve been watching McLeod’s Daughters. I started watching a few years ago but I never finished the series. I’m starting over with the first season and I’m not binging it so it’s going to take me awhile to get through it. I have the first four seasons on DVD and I know it used to be on Netflix, but I don’t think it is anymore. So there’s no real reason to rush through the first four seasons unless Netflix gets it back. I love everything about this show. The cast is great and I love the setting and the scenery!
I’ve been playing a lot of Game of War lately. You may have seen their ads (Kate Upton with the boobs) on TV or on some other games or apps. I started out in a crappy alliance, but now I’ve joined a good one and I think they’ll have my back if I get attacked, unlike my old one.
Favorite books read in January
Five star books for January were The Truth About Twinkie Pie by Kat Yeh (audiobook), The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (audiobook), and Sunrise by Mike Mullin. I read a lot of great books this month! I also had six 4 star books.
