Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

Middle Grade

Breaking the Ice by Gail Nall Paper Things by Jennifer Richard Jacobson Fairy Tale Reform School: Flunked by Jen Calonita

01. Breaking the Ice by Gail Nall – Breaking the Ice looks a little on the younger side of MG and I tend to not like those as much, but I can’t help but want to read it. I used to be a huge figure skating fan and I’m still drawn to books about it. This one seems to have a pretty interesting plot, too. (January 13, 2015)

02. Paper Things by Jennifer Richard Jacobson – Paper Things sounds like it has the potential be a beautiful book about a difficult subject. (February 10, 2015)

03. Fairy Tale Reform School: Flunked by Jen Calonita – I’m not a fairy tale fan, so I usually shy away from the fairy tale retellings that are so popular, but this one reminds me a little of The School for Good and Evil. I enjoyed that one so I’m hoping to like Fairy Tale Reform School too. (March 3, 2015)

Young Adult

Paper or Plastic by Vivi Barnes I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

04. Paper or Plastic by Vivi Barnes – I really hope that cover makes the final cut because I think it’s perfect. I love how the dark pink of her dress matches the font color. (February 3, 2015)

05. I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios – I already have the ARC of this one, but I haven’t read it yet. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it though. (February 3, 2015)

All Fall Down by Ally Carter One of the Guys by Lisa Aldin

06. All Fall Down by Ally Carter – Carter’s Gallagher Girls series was a SERIES DNF for me. I gave the first book four stars, but the second only earned two and I struggled so much with book three that I gave up entirely after that. Heist Society didn’t appeal to me either, but I’m willing to give her another shot with the first book in this new series. It will probably be her last chance, however. If I can’t get into it, I’m done with Ally Carter. (February 5, 2015)

07. One of the Guys by Lisa Aldin – The Winston Academy for Girls sounds straight out of the 1960s and I’m not sure why the Winston girls need fake dates, but I’m looking forward to reading about the guys’ reactions when Toni presents the idea to them. (February 10, 2015)

The Bargaining by Carly Anne West Better Than Perfect by Melissa Kantor Salt & Stone by Victoria Scott

08. The Bargaining by Carly Anne West – The Bargaining sounds creepy and if I didn’t already have the ARC, I would probably try to save it for next October. (February 17, 2015)

09. Better than Perfect by Melissa Kantor – Now that I’ve glanced at the reviews on Goodreads, I’m not quite as excited for Better than Perfect as I initially was, but everyone’s different. Maybe I’ll love it. (February 17, 2015)

10. Salt & Stone by Victoria Scott – I haven’t written a review of it (yet?) but Fire & Flood, the first book in this series, was one of my favorite books of 2014. I’ve been dying to find out what happens next for months! (February 25, 2015)
