My To-Be Read List: November 2014

My To-Be Read List

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life. On the first Saturday of every month, I’ll be posting a poll with three books from my TBR. You get to vote on one for me to read and on the last Saturday of the month, I’ll post my review.

Here are my choices for November:

Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally

Parker Shelton pretty much has the perfect life. She’s on her way to becoming valedictorian at Hundred Oaks High, she’s made the all-star softball team, and she has plenty of friends. Then her mother’s scandal rocks their small town and suddenly no one will talk to her.

Now Parker wants a new life.

So she quits softball. Drops twenty pounds. And she figures why kiss one guy when she can kiss three? Or four. Why limit herself to high school boys when the majorly cute new baseball coach seems especially flirty?

But how far is too far before she loses herself completely?

3 Days by Krista Madden
3 Days by Krista Madden

Kara Laquin wanted nothing more than to forget. Forget the past, live in the present, and ignore the future. When a massive solar flare destroys all electronics and throws the country into chaos, Kara is nearly a whole state away from her lost love, Blaine. He can wait only three days before moving on. With access to fuel limited, she must do anything necessary to get to him before he is forced to move on, but society is crumbling around her. Looters and murderers prowl the cities during the day, and something even worse roams at night.

Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
Scarlet by AC Gaughen

Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.

It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

  1. Thanks for voting on mine! It looks like we probably don’t have the same tastes in books, but it;s always fun to read about new things, even if I wouldn’t read it. I voted for Scarlett for you. Hope you enjoy what’s picked.

  3. I have heard some good things about Scarlet, I think it’s even on my to-read list as well, so that’s were I voted for. I have seen Stealing Parker a few times as well, but never heard of 3 Days.

  6. As long as you don’t mind Scarlet’s colloquial grammar, it is an amazing story and book two is even better!

  7. It was hard to pick one! They all sound so good. I ended up voting for Stealing Parker since it’s from a series I’ve been wanting to read. I look forward to your review of whichever book wins! 🙂
