Weekly Rewind: September 14-20

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I was busy offline again this week. I barely even had any reading time. My husband and I finished the floors in our rental house and did some yardwork. At the end of the week, we found our new renters! They will be moving in next weekend. While we were over there, we noticed a sign advertising a Greek festival in the area. We went to that last night. We listened to music and watched folk dancing. I had never had Greek food before but it all looked and smelled so good. We tried gyros, moussaka, and baklava, all as good as it smelled.

In my garden, my tomatoes have made a surprise resurgence. I picked eight yesterday. I’m waiting for my fall lettuce.

@ rather be reading ya

  1. That’s awesome you found new renters and that Greek festival sounds fun! From those thing you mentioned I once tried moussaka and baklava. Although generally I am not such a big fan of greek food as they usually don’t have as much choices for vegetarians.
Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • I’m sure there are Greek vegetarians, but you’re right, many of the foods did seem to have a lot of meat in them. I didn’t want to try lamb, so I made sure to get beef in my gyros. I love going to these types of festivals, but since I work weekends we don’t always get a chance to go.

  4. I’d love to have attended the Greek festival. All that savory food!
I’ve given up on gardening besides some flower beds. It’s too hot down here on the Gulf Coast. The plants either get eaten up by all the bugs or the sun crispy fries them.
I’ve been seeing Get Even around a lot recently and The Flirting Games looks fun. Happy reading.

  6. The Greek festival sounds fun! I love Greek food and the dancing is fun when they all do the Zorba’s dance. We used to frequent a restaurant in London that traditionally broke plates at the end of the evening. Everyone around the table doing the Zorba and the plate smashing would begin. Crazy but fun!

  7. Yay for getting renters! I’m sure that’s a relief to get that taken care of. The Greek festival sounds fun. I love Greek food and Baklava is a little piece of flaky heaven. That’s great about your tomatoes. I always think I’m going to plant lettuce in the fall but then I always forget. One year it’ll happen. Have a great week!
