Weekly Rewind: August 17-23

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

My blog was slow this week because I wasn’t feeling well. I came home early on Tuesday, felt better by dinnertime, but started feeling sick again later. I stayed home again on Wednesday and Thursday was my day off. Back to work on Friday!

Just last week I was talking about summer being over and this week it got HOT. We’ve also finally figured out what’s killing our shrubs: spider mites. I’m not a big fan of shrubs in the first place — they were here when we moved in — so I’m in favor of letting them go. My husband thinks we should at least treat them to try to get rid of the spider mites and then maybe take them out.

@ rather be reading ya
My blog is going to be heavy on the reviews and light on other posts over the next few weeks, maybe the next month. I’m going to try to squeeze some memes and maybe a discussion post in here and there, but I’m reviewing a lot of ARCs that are being released from now until the end of September. Then I have to start reviewing books that I’ve been sent post-release, but I can space those out. I’ve been reading other books besides ARCs, but I’m holding those reviews until later too.

  2. I hope you can find a way to get rid of the spider mites in your shrubs. Here in the Netherlands we got some cooler weather these past few weeks and it has been nice to have some cooler temperatures for a change. I haven’t had much reviews on the blog the past few weeks as I haven’t been reading much. i hope I can read a bit more in the next month and get back to reading at least 1-2 books a week.

  3. It’s been hot here too, we went to the local community fair Friday night and it was muggy big time. After a cool summer now we get the heat. .

Hope you have a good week and feel better soon.

  7. I am curious about the Six Feet Book… I wanted to read it but then I read a review that say it was a bit depressing. I had a summer cold a couple of weekends ago and it is lame to be sick in the summer. Hope you are on your feet. Have a great week.

  8. I just put The Girl from the Well on my wish list at the library. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to half the books in my TBR pile… let alone all the books I want to read but don’t actually have!

  9. I hope you are now doing okay, Jen! I don’t know but this month is really something. I am not feeling well either but I am still trying to squeeze in some reading or I’ll have a huge ARC backlog. Sighs. We’re the same, I can’t believe that I managed to get 16 ARCs in just a matter of weeks. Gaah.

Blackbird Fly is on my TBR pile as well. 😀

    Have a speedy recovery!

  11. Oh I hate Spider Mites. I say treat them first but that’s mostly because I become a bit vindictive when it comes to those little menaces. Hope you’re feeling better. Being sick is awful and being sick during summer is just even worse. Something about heat and not feeling well just doesn’t go together. Have a great week!
