Weekly Rewind: August 10-16

weeklyrewind

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

life
There’s still more than a month to go on the calendar, but summer is unoffically over around here. School is back in session and the sweet corn stand we frequent closed up yesterday. The apple orchard we go to has even started apple-picking. My garden seems to be mostly done. The potatoes will be ready soon and I still have peppers growing. I’ll be planting my fall lettuce soon. It’s supposed to be hot this week, so I’ll wait until after that.

@ rather be reading ya

  1. Umbrella Summer looks cute. I no longer have kids in school, so summer is in full swing here, although Mums are out, and the stores are decorated for Halloween. With the wedding less the 43 days away..I need things to slow WAY down..LOL Have a awesome week and happy harvesting and planting!

  6. We have had mild weather here which is strange for us. It is normally our hottest part of the year, but I will certainly take it. 🙂 Enjoy all the new books you got this week.

  8. Our summer has pretty much deserted us over here. We don’t usually get the best summers in Ireland, but we had a couple of really nice weather, and when it goes back to normal, you miss it! Enjoy all your new books, and have a great week!

  9. That’s a bummer when the corn stand closes, I’m not ready for fall yet even though I like the season. We’re still in summer mode a bit but yeah, the clock is ticking and school is looming for us- two weeks to go but open houses and everything already, so it’s almost like it’s already started!

I think the Rachel Carter book looks promising, sounds like an interesting fantasy world and the academy thing sounds fun. Hope it’s good.

    • The corn stand closing definitely makes me sad. I’m really looking forward to the Rachel Carter book. I’m hoping this will be the fantasy book to get me hooked, since I didn’t do well with Throne of Glass. Rachel seems really nice, too, so I want to like it.

  10. We’re officially back in school as well and it’s nice to be back on schedule. My garden is definitely fading as well. I think my cucumbers have about had enough and it seems the mountain of zucchini is at the end. Lovely books this week! I love the cover for The Empress Chronicles. Have a great week!
