Weekly Rewind: July 6-12

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I think our freezer is going out. On Monday, I returned home from work to a puddle of water on the kitchen floor under and next to the freezer. (We have a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer.) We had to move the whole thing to get all the water up, then Googled to find out what could be the problem. Google said it was probably the drain pan, so we took the grill off the bottom of the unit (SO MUCH DUST!) but couldn’t find the drain pan. We didn’t have the manual, but were able to find it on GE’s website. Apparently there is no drain pan, or at least not one you can remove and empty out. Thanks a lot, Google. I had to use a knife to chip off a layer of ice on the floor of the freezer and we tried to flush out the drain like the manual said. The next day there was more ice on the freezer floor, but so far we haven’t seen any more on the floor.

My morning glory is finally blooming. I have about four flowers right now.

I have a lot of squash coming in. Most of it is too small, but I picked these two. I also picked a tiny carrot because I wanted to see how big the carrots were.

My pepper plant is starting to bloom, but I didn’t get any pictures.

I did a little work on the blog this week, making a few changes to the navigation menu and adding a blog button that I got on Etsy.

Yes, I bought Sinner last week when it was released and I got approved for it this week. I guess I should have held off on purchasing it, but I just assumed that they wouldn’t be approving anyone else after it was released. I mean, I’ve gotten approvals for books already released before, but they’re usually books from authors who aren’t well-known and aren’t such recent releases. Oh, well. It was also a long shot “I won’t know if I don’t try” for me in the first place. I was surprised to get that one, and also two more from Scholastic!

  1. Through to You looks cute. A few years ago we had both freezers go in less then a months time. Hopefully you have corrected the problem. *fingers crossed*

  3. That’s too bad about the freezer. You may want to put a thermometer in there so you can keep an eye on the temp so you know for sure. Ours went a few years ago and it was a huge hassle but I do love my new one! Yay on the squash! Enjoy your books!

  5. My garden is just putting along. The only thing really growing at all is the pumpkins. I might even have to thin those out because they are getting too big. But everything else is just like doing nothing. I love love the button you have for your blog!! I have always liked your blog layout anyways.. the colors are spot on! My dishwasher has been leaking a little for a long time now. We do need to get another one but just haven’t yet. I suppose we’ll just wait till it breaks big time.

    • Ooh, pumpkins! I would love to grow some, but since I’m doing container gardening they probably wouldn’t work very well.

Thanks! Sometimes I think about changing my blog design again, but since I paid for this one I should probably keep it more than a few months. I’m going to try to code my own next time. If I get started soon, I should have something ready in a year or so…

We just wash our dishes in the sink. Since there’s only two of us, it’s not too big a job.

  6. I am still debating whether to pick up Sinner! I have read some good reviews and then I have heard some really bad ones! I will have to see your thoughts on that one to see if it tips me!

Thanks for sharing lovely and I hope you enjoy all of your books! 🙂
