Weekly Rewind: July 20-26

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I’m still in a mini-slump when it comes to blogging, but I think I’m starting to come out of it. I have two books that I “have” to review for this week (one a blog tour date and one for a release date). I’ve made good progress on one of the reviews and I’m still reading the book for the other — but I’ve started that review too!

Reviews: Panic by Lauren Oliver (audiobook)

Other Posts: Cover Reveal: This is Falling by Ginger Scott, Waiting on Wednesday: Six Feet Over It

Books I Acquired:

Tear by Rachel Van Dyken Untouched by Melody Grace Untamed Hearts by Melody Grace Unrequited by Melody Grace

B&N Chapter Samplers

Last weekend I stopped into Barnes & Noble for their Get Pop-Cultured Preview Weekend. There wasn’t really anything going on but they did have a small table of freebies: posters, buttons, and chapter samplers from various books. I skipped over everything but the chapter samplers. I was hoping for a sampler from Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld, but they were either out or didn’t get any in. Instead I picked up samplers for Nightmares! by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller, Uncaged by John Sanford & Michele Cook, Atlantia by Ally Condie, The Young Elites by Marie Lu, and Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige.

Currently Reading: The Family Romanov by Candace Fleming

  1. I have been meaning to read the melody grace series. I grabbed the freebies and I have one or two of the others for review. I need to clear a reading week just to be able to read them all though.

Great week for you! I need to check out barnes and noble!

    Happy Reading!

    • I got the freebies after seeing them on your blog last week. Someone else I visited that day had recently reviewed a Melody Grace book and mentioned that the third one I got was free so I went back for that one too.

Maybe your B&N store will have some leftover samplers. The guy was really pushing them on me so I guess they weren’t flying off their table. You would think people in a bookstore would love the chance to get free samples. It’s not like they were going into the grocery store and handing out chapter samplers to people who might not be readers at all. Bookstore = books!

  2. I am looking forward to starting the Dorothy Must Die series. I always hated that Dorothy!

    • I’m not really interested in it, but I’ve seen some mixed reviews from people I knew were highly anticipating it, so I’m kind of curious. It was free so I thought I would at least check it out.

  3. I did a spotlight for Melody Grace I think or maybe it was a blitz LOL either way I was looking forward to getting to her book. I am looking forward to see what you think of them!

I know how that little slump can be, at the moment I am ahead but going on vacation next week and I have a feeling I might start slacking it always happens after vacation for me.

    Have a great week, Jenna!!

  4. I hate slumps so I’m glad to hear you’re getting through yours. They seem to happen at unfortunate times. The Family Romanov sounds interesting. Hope you’re enjoying it. Have a great week!

  5. I’m kinda curious about Atlantia, I read the excerpt and thought it might be good. I wonder if our B&N has any of those samples… 🙂

    • This is the last weekend of B&N’s Pop Cultured event and I think they’re having more samplers and giveaways. I’m not sure if I’ll make it there, but I’m going to try to stop in.

  6. Sometimes just unplugging helps me get over those slumps. I hope you find away out of it.

  9. Our Barnes & Noble had a signing this past weekend, and my daughter and I went and got the freebies. My son is loving the comic books that they had at ours. Enjoy all the new books.

    Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
