The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

We had a really good rain yesterday, so I’m looking forward to seeing how things grow over the next few days. I think rain is better for my garden than water from the hose.

This is the basil that I had given up for dead soon after I planted it. I love how it’s bounced back.

My dill is so tall now, and this isn’t even the mammoth dill. I bought those seeds but never planted them.

My tomato plants are producing a lot of fruit. I can’t wait until they start ripening.

I’ve had more strawberries from the green pot this week. The brown planter is still lagging behind.

I think I need to pick some of the spring crisp lettuce soon. By the time we’re done eating that, the other lettuce will be ready again.

The chipmunk has been digging in the spinach again.

I moved some pots around this week, to give the larger plants more room.

Baby squash! I just saw the one on Friday night when I was doing photos, but yesterday I counted four more.

I also have a single blue blueberry! Some of the others were starting to look a little blue last night.

The green beans are starting to flower. Their blossoms showed up yesterday. They’re purple. I would have waited to do photos on Saturday night if I’d known everything was going to change so rapidly from Friday to Saturday.

The peas aren’t doing too well. I’m not sure what happened to them, but there’s a large section in the middle of the plant that’s brown and looks dead.

Not much to report from the sweet peppers, but they are larger than last week.

I thinned the carrots earlier in the week. Then they grew so much you can barely tell.

The morning glory got moved back to the deck when we got the grill out on Sunday. I need to get everything into a permanent spot. They’re heavy.

I heard so much about Heir of Fire from BEA attendees last week that I thought I’d better read the series. I’ve said before that I’m not a big fan of fantasy books (but I love it on TV!), so I’m not sure the series will fare with me, but I’m willing to give it a shot. Hey, maybe I’ll fall in love with the genre.

  2. Basil does bounce back nicely. I enjoyed the pics of your plants. I have an herb and rose garden myself. Quite enjoyable.
