Clean Sweep ARC Challenge: May 2014

Clean Sweep ARC Challenge May 2014

Are your ARC’s stacking up?

Yes.

Have published dates come and gone?

Yes.

Are you feeling like you need to get those piles under control?

Yes.

Are you avoiding NetGalley and Edelweiss?

Yes.

I hear tales of people having a backlog of 20, 30, 50, and even more ARCs stacked up waiting to be read. Some were published months ago. I’ve always prided myself at not going overboard on ARCs, even from the time I started blogging, which is when most people seem to get into trouble. A few months ago, though, I requested and got approved for quite a few in a short time, and I haven’t been able to keep up.

I’m not stressed over it or anything, but I want to get some of these read so I can request some more because publication dates have either passed or are coming up soon. To solve this problem, I’m signing up for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Review and Angie @ Angela’s Anxious Life. It runs from May 1-31.

Here’s my list:

  1. Pandemic by Yvonne Ventresca (May 6)
  2. Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn (May 13)
  3. Searching for Sky by Jillian Cantor (May 13)
  4. One Man Guy by Michael Barakiva (May 27)
  5. We are the Goldens by Dana Reinhardt (May 27)
  6. The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu (June 3)
  7. Hexed by Michelle Krys (June 10)
  8. Jex Malone by C.L. Gaber & V.C. Stanley (June 18)
  9. The Dare by Hannah Jayne (July 1)

And these were already published:

  1. Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon (2010)
  2. The Gods of Asphalt (2011)
  3. Flavours by Susan Mehra (September 2013)
  4. Witchfall by Victoria Lamb (March 2014)
  5. Silver by Chris Wooding (March 2014)

The first three were already published before I got them, so it’s not quite as bad as it looks!

  1. I always hear about people going crazy with ARCs too. I really try to NOT do that. Good luck with your goals. I think you should get all those books read this month. Have fun!

  2. Omg, yes to all those, haha! I’m participating too, yey! I haven’t felt motivated enough to make a goals post yet though, but I have finished one book so far 😀 Good luck getting through your pile!

    • I finished one too (but I did read most if it in April!) and I’ve started two more. I don’t really have goals except to keep up with publication dates. I probably won’t get to the June ones, other than Hexed (blog tour date in May). I don’t have any current pending requests, so once I get caught up, I’ll be able to go back and read the ones that have already been released.
