Weekly Rewind: November 3 – 9

The Weekly Rewind is my version of The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

My DVR has been getting full so I’m attempting to clean it off. I finally decided to drop Hostages. I was liking the show up until the past couple of episodes. I decided I don’t care enough about any of the characters to keep watching. I think ratings are pretty low anyway, so it probably won’t last much longer.

Hostages was one of the few shows I was actually caught up on. I hadn’t watched any episodes of Nashville or Sleepy Hollow at all this season. I watched all six episodes of Nashville yesterday and learned that I really can’t marathon a show. By the end of those six episodes — and I split them up, watching half before work and half after work — I was BORED. I still love the show. I just can’t watch six episodes in one day.

I watched the first episode of Sleepy Hollow. Now, I’m not going to make that Nashville mistake again, so I’ll be alternating it with at least one other show today. I haven’t seen Dracula or Reign yet either, so I’ll be starting those soon.

Flavorwire has a list of 45 great American indie bookstores to support this holiday season. There aren’t any indie bookstores at all where I live, but maybe there’s a great one near you on this list that you didn’t even know about. I browsed a few of their websites and most of them sell some things online.

Queen Ella Bee Reads lists all the series she reads and where she is in the series. This is a great idea that I plan on snagging. I have so many series that I started and then never went back to (but WANT TO) because I had to wait for the next release. Then I was reading something else when the next book came out and I never got around to finishing the series.

  1. I don’t watch Nashville, but I do watch Sleepy Hollow and Dracula and I really like them both. 🙂 Enjoy the new books, you got some good ones.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I have given up on watching shows. With my kids and busy schedule, I am lucky if I can sit down and watch a couple of thirty minute shows a week. I really wanted to watch Sleepy Hollow but I am so behind. I wonder if I can stream it.
Anyway thanks for stopping by my blog and for linking up some articles I am going to check them out!

  4. I cannot help but wonder will I ever start The Morganville Vampires series. It seems to me I missed that train. I mean the book do sound interesting but nothing new. The Naturals sound great and I cannot wait to read it. Great haul, Jenna 🙂

  5. I love Nashville but don’t think I could do 6 episodes of anything, I just don’t have the attention span for that. Nice haul. I really enjoyed the The Naturals and I won After Eden recently and I’m really looking forward to checking that one out too.

    • I know a lot of people who will sit down and watch an entire season of a show in the span of a a couple of days. I now know I should never attempt that. The good news is that I watched this week’s episode yesterday and still enjoyed it, so it didn’t ruin the show for me.
