Feature & Follow Friday

Feature & Follow is a weekly blog hop hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.

What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

I’ve seen Cinder and Pushing the Limits (and their sequels) on a lot of meme posts lately (TTT, WoW), but I haven’t read either of them. I want to though. I’ve read The Fault in Our Stars but I feel like it and John Green are WAY overrated. I’ll get around to reading the rest his stuff eventually. Cassandra Clare is one of my Will Never Read authors because of her plagiarism and cyberbully days in the Harry Potter fandom. (Fortunately that list is in my head instead of on Goodreads.)

Yeah, I know. I’ve seen maybe an episode or two of Friends but that’s about it. I don’t really like sitcoms. Speaking of friends, almost all of mine have seen Firefly but I’m not interested. Everyone I know who’s watched it has loved it though, so I’ll probably watch it one day.

I’m not going to do movies because I don’t see many movies other than horror movies. All the blockbusters from this summer or last summer or the summer before that? Haven’t seen them and don’t plan to. Most movies are WAY TOO LONG. I can’t sit still that long. The last movie I saw in a theater was The Hunger Games.

  1. You know I’ve always heard how great Firefly was but whenever I saw a little of it it just didn’t grab me. Seemed boring. I guess I need to watch it from the beginning maybe… ditto about sitcoms, we don’t watch many. So I can definetly relate…

    • Yeah, I almost always watch everything from the beginning, so maybe that will help. Firefly *does* look boring though. I’ll probably watch it and be the only person I know who hates it. I’ve tried to watch a few sitcoms but I usually get bored or forget about them. Last year or whenever it started, I was watching New Girl. It was fine but I had a scheduling conflict and when I gave it up, I didn’t miss it at all. I’ve heard it’s still good, so I do sometimes wish I’d been able to stick with it. This year I’m giving The Michael J Fox Show a try. I have other shows on at the same time, though, so I’ll probably forget about it soon too. It’s too hard for me to remember to watch it on demand unless I really love a show. I do like some older sitcoms like Roseanne, The Cosby Show, and Home Improvement. I’ll watch their reruns on cable before I’ll watch a new sitcom.

  2. Yeah! Another Horror movie fan. I always have to drag my friends to the theater for a good gore. New bloglovin follower.

    • That’s what I miss about Netflix (we dropped it awhile back because we weren’t using it enough to get our money’s worth): the horror movies. I love the bad ones too, and especially the ones that are remakes of Asian horror movies. There aren’t many of those being made now, but I don’t watch the real Asian ones because I don’t like reading subtitles. They require too much of my attention and I’m usually multitasking when the TV is on.

  3. Oh my gosh, I am a huge Joss Whedon fan, and I’ve never seen Firefly either. I know that I have to some day, I guess that I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I haven’t read Cinder either! (Although it is sitting on my bookshelf waiting for me to pick it up.)

  4. I never watched friends either. Never really got into that one. I liked Cinder and City of Bones. The other ones I have not read. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am an old follower 🙂

  5. I’ve never seen Firefly either. Not my thing, I am one of those people who liked Looking for Alaska more than I liked Fault In Our Stars. Although I listened to Alaska, so I don’t know if that made the difference. Thanks for visiting my FF. New bloglovin follower

  6. I like Friends. There’s always reruns of it on TV and sometimes I still watch it when there’s nothing on. It’s one of the few TV shows that I can watch one of its episodes several times and still find it funny
