ARC August Update #4

ARC August is hosted by Octavia. Here we are at the end of ARC August. My goal at the beginning of the month was to read 4 books, then I revised it to 6 as I got approvals. Here’s how I did: 01. A Tale of Two Centuries – Rachel Harris (finished August 4) review 02. Witch Hunt – Tabitha Morrow (DNF August 30) mini-review coming September 1 03. Running from Romeo – Dianne Mannino (finished August 15) review 04. {Read More}

Monster Review-a-thon

The Monster Review-a-thon is hosted by The Book Monsters. With both Bout of Books and ARC August wrapping up this week, I have written and have to write quite a few reviews. Only the ones posted from August 26-September 1 will count for this review-a-thon (and unfortunately I have to schedule a few farther out than that), but it’s a good incentive to get me to finish them up. I’m a little late signing up for this review-a-thon, so I’ve {Read More}

Feature & Follow Friday

Feature & Follow is a weekly blog hop hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. Q: If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be? That is a super hard question. There are a lot of books that I love, but I don’t really have one single favorite book. That would make it easy. While I guess my true answer would be The Bible, I want to pick {Read More}

Bout of Books 8.0: Final Update

Well, here we are at the end of Bout of Books 8.0. I had a great time. I’ve been afraid of read-a-thons because I’ve seen people’s progress reports and some of them are reading 1-2 books a day. Working full-time, with a commute of over an hour a day round-trip, and being unable to just sit and readreadread when I am home (due to my short attention span), I just can’t do that so I felt like only a few {Read More}

Weekly Rewind: August 18-24, 2013

I’m borrowing this idea from Asti at A Bookish Heart. Each week I’ll be posting a little about my week, recaping my weekly blog postings, and linking some of the posts I read in the book blogging community. It’s super triple coupons week at my grocery store. It seems like it’s been a long time since the last triple coupon week, but I think I missed the last one so that was my own fault. This week I was able {Read More}

Bout of Books: Saturday Update

I think taking Thursday off from Bout of Books was the right thing. I wrote three of my four reviews and the last one won’t be posted until next month anyway (an ARC). I was supposed to read The Hidden Summer by Gin Phillips next, but I found that I wasn’t in the mood for it. I haven’t read a dystopian book in quite a while, so I decided to substitute Countdown by Michelle Rowen for The Hidden Summer. This {Read More}
