15 Day Book Blogging Challenge: Day Four

This 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge is hosted by Good Books and Good Wine.

What’s the last book you flung across the room?

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

I know, I know. Lots of love for this one all over the internet and I don’t want to bash, but here is the entirety of my review of it at Goodreads (pre-blog):

This book is extremely boring.

(And it got a “like,” which I think is the only of my reviews on there that has.)

Oh my God, the excruciating details about planes SO MANY PLANES AND SO MANY DETAILS and I JUST DO NOT CARE and, well, see above. It made me so mad because all I had heard was “this is such a good book,” and “you have to read this,” and I really was looking forward to it even though I don’t like war stories or the WWII-era in particular. The more I thought about it, the more mad I got and even now I’m starting to get mad about it. There was no actual flinging because I don’t treat my Kindle that way, or my walls, for that matter, but there was flinging in my head. A DNF for sure.

There was one thing I liked about the book, this quote:

It’s like being in love, discovering your best friend.

I also like the cover.
